At Excellence Dental, we provide dentures and partials to replace missing teeth and restore your smile. These removable appliances closely resemble natural teeth and are available in both full and partial options to suit your specific needs.
Complete Dentures
Complete dentures are ideal if you’re missing all your teeth in the upper or lower jaw. We offer two types: conventionaland immediate. With conventional dentures, we first remove your teeth and then allow your gums to heal for about 4 to 6 weeks before placing the dentures. During this time, you won’t have teeth. For immediate dentures, we prepare and place them right after your teeth are removed. This allows you to have teeth during the healing process, though adjustments are needed as your gums heal and shrink.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are a great option if you still have some natural teeth. They fill the gaps left by missing teeth while keeping your remaining teeth in place. Partials help you eat, speak, and smile comfortably again.
How We Create Your Dentures
The process of getting dentures involves a few steps spread across several weeks. First, we’ll have a consultation to assess your oral health and discuss the best options. After that, we take impressions and measurements of your mouth. These details allow us to create custom dentures that fit you perfectly.
You’ll try on the dentures at different stages to check the fit, color, and shape. We make adjustments as needed to ensure they feel right. Once we finish crafting your dentures, we’ll fit them in place and make sure they feel comfortable and look natural.
Adjusting to Your New Dentures
It takes time for your mouth to adjust to new dentures. At first, you might experience increased saliva, and your mouth may feel sore. Speaking and chewing may also feel awkward for a short time, but you’ll get more comfortable with practice.
Caring for Your Dentures
You need to care for your dentures just like your natural teeth. Clean them daily to remove food particles and plaque. Keep up with your oral hygiene by brushing your gums and any remaining teeth. Visit Excellence Dental regularly so we can check that your dentures still fit well and are in good condition.
